I found some good deals on Tokai CIJ, but all the seller ship by EMS, Did some one here ever try that method? If I'm not home where I will grab my package?
Are they like UPS with a lot of fees?
Thanks

Where's it coming from? If it's from outside Canada, be prepared for duty (because it's not from a NAFTA country) on top of regular taxes and whatever brokerage happens. There was a post a while back about doing the brokerage thing yourself but I've never done that.

The post office offers Global EMS. Its just another form of express Air Mail. Works great, and most international sellers will only use it. its more money but fast and trackable. , you'll get a card and have to go to the Post office and pay the Brokerage fee (like 5.00) and the GST assesed on the declared value, plus duty if its outside of the US Canada or Mexico.

Since it's in Japan, there'll be many fees for sure! Maybe the deal isn't that good! :( I think I will wait a little bit!
Thanks for the tips everyone!

The Japanese love Rocks are great guitars but if you decide that the cost is too much I would recommend the Korean Studio Love Rock for sale here on the board. It is a very good price. (..and I don't know the seller...... I just like the guitars)

I used to use Japan Post EMS shipping a lot when I did a lot of importing from Japan. It's pretty fast. Shipping from Japan to Toronto takes about a week or so since it's going by air. Sometimes even less if Canada Customs doesn't take forever with the paperwork. EMS comes with international tracking and I believe some optional form of insurance. Just make sure who ever is selling the guitar to you packs it well, but I can tell you that the handling is a lot better than UPS ground.

I've heard a lot of good things from friends in Canada and in Japan who have used EMS. No problems (thankfully).
