I didnt know where to post this, i think here is ok.. for off topic posts.

Seen on the news that The government has requested recorders from Ebay Canada for anybody selling 1,000.00 or more a month. I guess they call them power sellers on ebay.

I notice a few high seller dont even charge tax. Un like a yard sale once and awhile When you sell on ebay you are leaving a paper trail.
I was wondering how long it would take before the Government clamped down on ebay sales.

I am a bit surprised at the $1,000.00 and up., i thought it would be less than that.

There might be a few nervous people out there, that have been selling alot, and not claiming as income and collecting PST and GST in Ontario,

I guess this is only fair to merchants who DO pay and charge taxes.

Not sure what you mean? Merchants collect GST for the government, it doesn't affect their bottom line.

I think the mechants on E-bay are not declaring income. That's the difference.

Also from the buyer's perspective it does impact the selling price which of course impacts sales. It's an advanage for the E-bay sellers.

Yah, when you look at it that way, makes sense.
