This is an interesting concept. Now if you could only get WCRs, Wolftones and other pups for this:

The idea has been around for a while. As far as I know, Ampeg was the first to offer this waaaaay back in 69 with the Dan Armstrong Plexi guitar (http://www.ampeg.com/products/daplexi/ada6/index.html). It's by far the coolest looking EZ switch, presto chango pickups guitar.

On another note, you can easily do this by just using clips in your guitars instead of soldering, though the loose connections might not be your cup of tea.

I just love how it looks without the p/u mounting rings.

I also remember back in the 80's there was a Seymour Duncan guitar that offered quick change pickups as well.

The idea is really good, I think I can use it without buying this guitar! Just put some connector to my wire to ease the change! Hummm...there's a project growing in my head! :P

The second generation Evans pickups used a connector for easy changing.

I think it seems like an interesting idea on face value, but I think quick connects are more than enough for me. I don't personally change pickups often enough to warrant a system like that.

I almost ALWAYS replace the stock pups in any guitar I buy, but I know what I like and once I change them once that's generally it.

interesting idea. I actually think that modding better pickups to work with the Gibson system will be quite an easy task.

Would I buy one? nope. Cool-ish guitar? yup.

This is a great idea for a store that sells pickups, as you can try them before you buy them. I can see a studio picking up one of these as well, but I can't see the average player needing this feature - how often do you change your pickups? Maybe once....

just buy 4 guitars with the various pickups combinations installed.......you have a $4500 budget....lol
cheers
