When you threaten a small company with a frivolous lawsuit, you should make sure that their head is not a recently retired high caliber lawyer with a history of fighting frivolous lawsuits.

I saw that yesterday and laughed long and hard.

I love it. I can just see the "Oh shit" looks on their faces now. Kinda difficult for them to save face at this point since the correspondence has been made public. It would be an interesting saga to follow. I can't stand bullies.
Nice.
Someone needs to write Gibson a letter over the recent ridiculous claims.

I never read the whole thing, but from what I read on another website, it seems like he infringed their patent and thinks he can justify it because he has a law degree.

Smart reply. Do you think they knew he was a lawyer?

Actually, he's right to demand documented proof that he has infringed on their design because the burden of proof rests on Monster.
I'm not a patent lawyer, but it appears to me that there aren't any more similarity between the connectors in question than between any other two standard RCA cables.

yah monster is trying to litigate themselves a second income, pretty obviously. as the fellow from blue jeans states, aside from the functional similarities, which are unavoidable because you're making a solder on connector to fit an industry standard connector, there's no design similarities otherwise. looks like he's in the right to my (admittedly not legally savvy) eyes.

Those connectors Moster claims is like theirs are generics made by the million in China.... every one of my whoesalers offers them :D
I hope Monster gets kicked!
Goliath, meet David.
If some of the big companies spent more on r&d as they did on litigation maybe the consumer would benefit.
Peace, Mooh.

Very good letter, good for them. The burden of proof is on Monster.
