not a fan of the stickers, but it's a solid guitar. i spent 4 months with an SG standard, it was a niiiiice axe.

Ebony fretboard? Very cool. What year is it?
Sounds like you got a great price on it. Enjoy the new axe!

It actually says 'ebony neck' which is unlikely and it looks like a rosewood board. Hard to tell from those photos

That is very good price for an SG Standard. Even ones with a repaired broken headstock go for a $150 or so more. Used standards are usually $900-1000. It's a bargain to get one for $800.

It's a special dressed as an SG standard, according to the seller:
Up for action is a Gibson SG Special modified to look like a standard. I added the pickup covers and a few other things like strap locks.

I'm not looking to stir the pot - and it's a good lookin' guitar - but it's located in Jacksonville, Germany?
That seem strange to anyone? I'm no Rand McNally atlas, but that strikes me as an odd name of a town in Germany.

Nice SG, I'd take the Studio truss rod cover off a LP Studio.
I think that looks great in black with the covers over the whateverbuckers.
It'll sound great you'll love it.

I love SG's--but ones not in the cards in the near future.
Enjoy it.

I had a SG Standard in Ebony with an Invader in the bridge. I liked it alot more at the shop than when I took it home. I sold it for an RG1527 which is alot more... comfortable/balanced/versitile.
But to each their own. Have fun!
