Ladies and gentlemen. Allow me to introduce you to the newest addition to my tone arsenal. A brand new ES 335 faded, that I just finished buffing up to a nice cintage-inspired warm sheen. I am so happy to have made the choice to go 335 rather tahn Les Paul. I tried like hell to get something happening for the Paul, but no go. Such an uncomfortable axe. Can't sit with it. Can''t stand with it. Can't STAND it!!

i agree, the Les Paul is an uncomfotrable guitar to sit with. i find it always wants to slide away from me.
my SG is super comfortable to sit down with. ES335 is super comfortable.
great colour, great axe.
Awesome guitar. Something on my short list of want to haves. Congrats!!
About sitting with a Les Paul, being a LP fan I find if you sit sort of like your playing a classical guitar it works. That is put it on your left knee instead of the right. Fits right in the body curve nicely.

What a wonderful looking guitar! Congrats on the score. If I might ask, how and what did you use to buff it out? Look's fantastic.

Wow, love the 335! How is the sound? Can you have a really heavy sound or it's too jazzy to be hard?

Well, Alex Lifeson can make a 355 sound pretty heavy, along with Alvin lee. Rick Derringer got the best 335 tone. Check out Edgar Winter's Road work album. Livin' in the USA. The tone on that cut will make your hair stand up!!

I used an automotive finishing compound called Sleek, nade by Carbrite. I used a foam rubber polishing ball in a drill at low speed.

I work in a car dealership, so it may not be an item that you can buy commersially. Any decent auto scratch or haze remover will do the trick. You just have to go slow and take your time, as you don't want to burn through the finish. There isn't much on there. Stay away from anything that contains silicon.
