Cool colour/finish and I dig the pickup... that's some neat hardware. Pretty far off from my idea of a Tele (I prefer the appearance of a no-nonsense natural finish) but it's trés fun-kay all the same. Ash too!

Am I the only one who finds Telecasters to be the ugliest guitars known to man?

I used to feel like that, then something changed. Probably watching what Albert Collins could do with one...

I think this thing gets the award though:

"This is a hand made custom with quality parts"

.. But I won't describe by who or what parts! Ummm? No thanks! lol. Not to mention the ugly oversized horn makes it look pretty dorky. maybe it is a great playing and sounding guitar, but would anyone actually throw down $355 to find out when the only real description is that it is made of ash?

There's at least $200 worth of parts. So is it really a gamble? Not including body parts.

I have a four Tele build going. That neck pickup cover is $18. Control plate Low end $ 5 high end $20 ..... plus pots
My calculations runs at least $130 and that's scouring the net for basic good enough non fender parts. That's not accounting for pickups.
Try it and see what you can come up with. If you can do it cheaper I will send you my address. Need a list ?

Well, you have no idea the parts are "good enough" or pressed out of tin, where the pick ups came from or otherwise. Not to mention if you want to value the guitar by it's unbranded parts then that's fine. I guess if you bought it and the neck was horrible or was built wrong by whoever and the intonation was buggerd then you could pull the hardware off and reuse it, then great.

my point is this, the seller has provided very little info about this guitar, who built it or out of what parts and that makes it a pretty big gamble with out getting to play it first IMO. I can go down the street and buy a brand new sweet looking blonde Jay Turser telecaster for $199, get to play it first and know it wasn't built by jim billy as a one off in his garage and the parts individually on Ebay are probably worth more than $200 "Buy it Now" prices.

Not to mention, I agree with the above posters, it is fugly

$219 built right, and he got the humbucker in the right position, :food-smiley-004:

...actually, that is one of the fugliest monstosities I've seen in a while. What's it painted with-leftover gloss ugly?
That's a $50 if you're lucky at the local pawn shop/fleamarket guitar. (the blue ebay thing, not the JT, which is kinda sweet for the price. For that money, where are they made?)

I actually don;t know much about them, they are based out of NY. I hadn;t really heard of them before until I seen a bunch at one of my local guitar shops. I checked it out and assumed it was just another mid range or even higher end custom brand until I seen the tag. Nothing really cheesy about this guitar at all. Quality binding front and back, nice woods and finishes. Kicks the hell out of any squier tele at the same price.

They have quite a selection from SGs to LP and Strats and several of thier own more contemporary designs. I would recomend them to anyone looking for an affordable guitar, however, that really only describes the price from what I have seen.

And for $220 that one comes with free shipping, they can be had for even less like this one at $150

i dont know if i ever thought they were ugly, but for years i just found them 'unattractive'
strats were more sexy and sleek, felt better in my hands.
as i age i find im attracted to slightly chunkier, plainer looking women- and nowadays teles look good too.

Long ago I had a Black Les Paul Standard, and then a Cherry Red ES-335. I bought both of them brand new, they were much cheaper then!

Anyway, I passed through that phase. I remember how frantic I was about scratches, and those set necks felt so fragile.

Think about this, Telecasters have been dropped on the parking lot, run over by a pickup, had new strings installed and gigged the same night! Or so the story goes...
