My little Traynor 10B Bass practice amp keeps blowing fuses, as soon as you put a new one in and hit the on switch they pop. I love this little amp for noodling. I have a 150w yorkie monobloc bass combo that weighs over 80lbs and sounds better cranked and I have a Traynor 50W tube bassmate combo that I don't want to regularly use. They are too much to dig out and set up and too big for just noodling around.
is there any hope for my little ss????
cheers

Anything can be repaired in theory. If the amp uses a proprietary power amp module it could be a problem to find a replacement (assuming that's the problem). Can you post some pictures of the inside of the chassis? Are there signs of burnt / overheated components?

thanks for the reply. I am not set up for pictures. the amp looks like brand new inside and out. I assumed, maybe, the transformer may be screwed as that appears to be hooked up closest to the fuse??? I have a little peavey amp (that is not working due to the imput jacks being torn away from the board and broken) however I didn't go there as the Traynor has more wires to the transformer than the peavey and I'm not very electrically inclined.
I can replace the amp, but like I posted, this little amp is like brand new.

The transformer is a possibility, and probably the worst case scenario. It's usually one of the power semiconductors (output transistor, etc) that fail shorted and pop the fuse. Can you disconnect the speaker and see if it still blows the fuse? If it is one of the output transistors then disconnecting the speaker may break the current path.

Let me know if you can't get it fixed. I'm selling my old SS Traynor TS-25 1x12, which would do you somewhere in between your little 10 and the bigger tube amp.

#1 cause is blown output transistor(s). #2 is shorted cap/rectifier. Don't bother replacing fuses or diconnecting the speaker to test. You'll need to get a ohm/diode meter to determine the fault. Probably better off in a techs hands if you're not comfortable troubleshooting this kind of thing.
