Gibson sues Activision (Guitar Hero)

Who in the the guitar building industry would be the first to sue if they thought they could.........????????
That would be the Gibson Guitar Corp.

Right now there are millions of kids out there playing Guitar Hero and as a direct result, thinking about getting their first real guitar. Imagine how many of them want a Gibson? Now Imagine how many will buy ANYTHING BUT Gibson once this news gets around, let alone a successful lawsuit.

What's that sound? That's the sound of a million Fender players snickering after hearing Gibson argue that a cheap plastic toy can be mistaken for one of their guitars.

I read elsewhere, Gibson had to do this to protect some kind of patent, along with Activision. So it's a pseudo lawsuit, to protect both of them.

Very typical of the soft corporate facism engulfing America at this time. This attitude is said to stem from the Reagan era and the doctrine of money now at all cost. Gibson like the recording industry fails to see further than the old business models. I'd say Gibson is a good company to invest in because it has a lot of potential for improvement based on knee jerk reactions like this one.
