hey folks,I want to adjust the truss rod on my 06 d28, its in the sound hole and I want to add relief. Is left, toward the low e the correct direction for this? I believe the rods are double action.I lowered the saddle slightly and want to put 13s back on.Thanks for your help!!!

hi jimmy- its left to add relief (loosen)
"righty tighty, lefty loosey"
go easy on it, no more than a quarter turn at a time!

from my (little) experience you should also feel it getting looser/tighter, even if you only do a 1/8 - 1/4 turn.

thanks for the input. My 06 D28 came with 12s and no relief,I added some and got the sweet spot after a couple trys,Now its been days and Im back into `13s and guess what? I tweaked the rod again to REDUCE the relief and presto!! perfection.I allways let techs do this but after trying and some worry I think Ive learned something;the adjustment of a truss rod can REALLY make a difference in sound, not only playability.I suggest this be done 2 times anually,OR WHEN you change string size OR if you have humidity swings as we on the coast do.Your sound can suffer if your set up sucks and even a great guitar can be so so without the proper setup. As IM sure most allready knew.
