Ok, so this is probably one of the dumbest questions ever but how do you plug a set of headphones into a Vox DA5? The Line/Phones jack really doesn't look like it will take standard 3.5mm headphones, a la IPod. Do I have to buy a special pair of headphones, can I just cram 3.5mm phones in there, or is there an adapter of sorts I need.

I'm just going out on a limb here, but its a 1/4 inch stereo jack for the headphones, right? You would either need a 3.5 mm to a 1/4 inch (5.5 mm, if I recalled correctly) adapter for your current set of headphones or purchase a set of headphones with the larger plug.

I don't have a picture of the amp, so I'm just taking a stab at things. Its not a dumb question if you new to the 1000's of ways to plug things into other things.

Most headphone jacks on receivers\amps are 1\4" jacks.

it sounds like u are trying to use a 1\8th.

You can get an adapter that will convert your 1\8th jack into a 1\4", however you are best having a big set of cans on your ears when playing thru a headphone jack.

Personally I'd spend $30 or $40 and get a new set of headphones.

Thanks guys,

the jack is the same size as the guitar imput jack/guitar cable (1/4"?). I guess I'll have to look around for some headphones with a 1/4" plug. I assume these are readily availible...

Most new sets of headphones come with a 1/4 to 1/8th adaptor.

if you are using earbuds or those crappy headphones that come with portable CD players then you owe it to yourself to get a better set of headphones.

No need to spend big bucks. Sony, JVC, Techniques, Koss etc.

Just find something that is comfortable on your head and that is reasonably priced. (eBay is a pretty good place to get good headphones for cheap)
