So I bought this disc last week second hand from EB Games. I played up until level 7 (almost finished the campaign) and then the game stopped and the screen said "this disc is not readable. Clean it off blah blah blah and restart the Xbox 360. So I did this and restarted the level then the same message came up. I cleaned the disc and put it back in and it started the campaign over again...right from the beginning! My gamer profile shows how many levels I've completed but when I go to play Halo 3, it starts over from the beginning and doesn't let me finish level 1 before the same message pops up. Has anything similar happened to anyone else?? I tried a few other games and they worked fine. What's up??

I lost the receipt (of course) so apparently I can't bring it back for a refund.

Do you have a Jumbo Video where you live? If so they should have a disk repair machine, the disk may just have a scratch or small flaw.

No guarantee thats what it is but definately worth the 5 bucks if it fixes the problem.

Are there any scratches on the disk?

Jeff: oh yeah. Lots of little scratches. I think I fixed the problem though...wink wink...I traded it in for $10 less than I paid and bought Bioshock. Then I went over to Futureshop and bought new copy of Halo 3 and picked up Perfect Dark Zero as well. Now everything seems to be working fine.

RE: Jumbo video - I think there is one out here, and I didn't know I could gets discs resurfaced. I was actually looking around for a place that resurfaced discs but couldn't find any. Have you had much luck with that.

Hah the last time I was there I was about 10, I didn't know it was a bad idea! I wonder if it's still open up here. I haven't been around those parts in years... only decent place around it is Diary Queen from what I remember.
