Saw this on the Bay and thought I'd share it. A nice peice of history and something I wouldn't mind having.

cool! Pretty interesting how a transformer is mounted on the speaker.

Yeah, my '49/'50 Princeton is the same way. A lot of people make the mistake of assuming these are field coil speakers but they aren't. The 'PM' on the basket indicates permanent magnet, so that is the output tranny mounted on the speaker frame and not a field coil.

Interesting. I really enjoy seeing how things were made in the past, especially if they were handmade and are well-aged like that amp.
Someone did a lousy job at soldering the wires, though.
