I am looking at little practice amps to keep by my bedside. I started looking at ones I knew about, the Vox DA5 and the Microcube. I noticed this Behringer model though that seems to use the same analog technology that Tech 21 used.

Anyone know about this amp, or how it compares to the other choices? It's almost half the price here of either of the other amps....

...i love my vox da5, as well as the tech 21 trademark 60 that is my go to recording amp.

...the behringer has garnered some great reviews, but i have read that the microcube has a flatulent low end.

Yeah microcubes have pretty farty bass, I used to own one. They're great practice amps though, but once you start cranking them up the bass gets very wishy washy.

I have Behringer V-Tone GM110, V-Tone Vintager 110 (first version of the GM110) and a GMX120 V-Tone head that I use as a backup amp.

I use the Vintager GM110 every day as my practice amp in my living room. The analog modeling technology it uses is great. It's essentially a copy of the Tech 21 Tradmark amps and the Sansamp.

I push the front end of this little tone machine with a Boss OD-3 with the amp set to: Brit / Hot / U.S. I get amazingly thick toneful crunch this way.

The breakup and distortion is very tube like. Everyone I play it for is just amazed. For $150 bucks, you can't go wrong with this amp.
