Hey,
quick question..
i have an epiphone les paul custom, and i was wondering
a) will any speed knob fit?
b) anyone ever see Silver speed knobs?

The vast majority of guitar knobs are based on the assumption of a standard-size potentiometer shaft. Major differences would be whether they assume a solid smooth shaft that requires a set screw to stay in place, a half-round shaft like that seen on some pedals, or the fairly common split-shaft with little grooves along the perimeter that merely require the knob to slip on.
You can probably get it in Toronto, but online suppliers would include Stewart-Macdonald and Guitar Fetish.

I believe you will have to change your pots. If I recall correctly the threading is a little different on the pots so aftermarket knobs can fit but not properly and will eventually break.

It's possible they won't fit--on my Les Paul I changed the knobs (from gold to black) and on the volume pots--since they're push/pull--they fit fine, but the old tone pots they don't fit on easily--although they did go on.

i checked my guitar and it looks like they are push pull with no threads..
hmm time to search
