You know, the drums look easier than the guitar--it's closer to actually playing.
I find there's no real correlation between playing guitar and playing guitar hero.

Are you getting the full kit? Yes it's worth it. Drums are fun as heck and vocals are pretty cool as well.
Vocals: You don't have to get the words right you just have to hit the right pitch. Now I don't know exactly how close it is, I'm not much of a singer but I'm actually hoping it will help me improve. I'm interested to see how it reacts to Ryan our singer, that will tell me how good of a job it's doing on the pitch analysis. Hopefully this Sunday I'll be able to give you more feedback.

By full kit you mean all the instruments? if so, yeah. I was playing guitar hero with friends and after passing the controller around I remembered rock band, figuring it'd be much more fun since we could all play (or atleast swap less often.) Plus I can do solo careers on all the instruments (minus bass :()
And whats the difference between the special edition and the regular?

Special is the whole kit as far as I know, it comes with a USB hub as well. I don't know if that is what makes it special or not.

If you have the game don't forget to create an account on www.rockband.com (http://www.rockband.com) and link it back to your console.

Yeah, rockband is loads of fun!! I think it has actually made me a better drummer. The instruments feel a little flimsy though, oh well:smile:.
P.S. Peavey is making GH/RB controllers, they're actually made out of wood and weigh and feel like a real guitar, they'll be pretty pricey though ($300+)

The drums are definately more realistic than guitar. Ignore the bogus layout and crappy feel all the other basics are there. I think they would actually help someone learn real drums.
How do find the vocal part? Singer from my band thinks there is some pitch correction going on on the easier levels.

The only thing that I think the game might help me with is singing and playing an instrument, which I hear you can do... Getting tomorrow... Damn you inch of snow that deters parents from driving...
I'm still on the fence with this one, looks kewl but how is the quality of instruments?

I like the guitar better than GHII's guitar, don't know if it's as solid. Mic is quite solid and the drums are solider than what I expected.
I was surprised at what I got for the money.
Thanks for the info, may find my way to EB Games tomorrow!:smilie_flagge17:

Well, I think the vocals are pretty solid and yeah on easy mode you can get by even if you're a tad out of tune. Vocals are my favorite part of the game, it's like karaoke, but cooler

Good luck with finding a store with stock. I know Walmarts across Canada got some in lately. Don't spend any more than $169.99 on it.

Incredibly fun! my favorite is easily the drums but vocals and guitar is fun as well. very Durable stuff.except maybethe light weight guitar. Probably paid too much, but still worth it imo. paid about two hundred after tax. though everything costs more out here..

How much is the basic unit anyways. I've been playing it at a friends and we ended up blowing his speakers lol. I want the drums kit. guitar is fun but totally useless. I played Weezer - say it ain't so on the game, which I can play on real guitar, and there was no reseblance whatsoever no surprise.

Although the drums are pretty solid, I know alot of people having problem with sensitvity. With my drums, if you hit them too fast or too hard the game doesn't register it, but if you have problem you can always use the rockband site and get them replaced or do a homemade quick fix. I got mousepads taped to my drums, they work perfectly now. I had socks taped on them before that lol.

I bought Rockband for my kids during march break. They are having a ball with it. We also have GH1 around here and the guitar control from that game works on Rockband as well so we have all four parts going quite often.

I played Rockband a few times and found the drums to be really hard. I guess I'm used to playing by ear and not by sight. Difficult to coordinate colours and the pads. My friends 2.5 year old son is better at the rockband drums than me :)
