Greetings...

I have a Behringer GMX1200H that I am thinking about buying from one of my sons. I currently have it connected to a generic 2x12 cabinet...and I can't seem to get any sort of decent volume out of the amp.

The Behringer has 3 mode settings: Clean, Hi Gain and Hot. I can't really use the Hi Gain or the Hot, and the signal level of the Clean is too low to be of any use to me. Even with the channel volume and the master volume both cranked, it isn't even loud enough to make my wife scream "Shut Up!!".

On the back of the Behringer head are 2 inputs named Slave In Left and Slave In Right, which I would assume is for the 2 separate channels. My big question is:

What would a person use as a slave amp? I have various PA power amps that could be used, but I don't know how to go about hooking them up. Would a person plug into the PA power amd the then, after setting the volume on the PA amp, plug that amp into the Slave In for the appropriate channel?

Sorry if this is a seemingly stupid question, but I don't want to smoke the amp by plugging an amp into an amp...

Thanks,

Doug

I don't know the answer to your slave question BUT,
if your GMX1200H isn't loud enough on everything but the clean channel (the clean is alot quieter than the others) something is seriously wrong!
What impendance are your speakers?
I have mine plugged in (in stereo) to Behringers 4x12 cabinet and its bitchingly loud.
I have suffered temporary hearing impairment several times from playing mine for several days afterwards.
Behringers website has the owners manuals in pdf format if thats any help.
