Get out your pen and paper and right down the serial numbers of your guitars, and gear.
Take Pictures and put the information in a safe place.. make copies, and keep them out of house at a relative's.
I have two copies, and sent pictures and serial numbers to my on line mail.
This will make things much easier if something does happen.

Very good advice. Sadly, these are the things that we usually say: "I'll do it tomorrow" ...
Photos, serial numbers, and descriptions with your insurance company and in your safe deposit box helps.
Identify yourself on the inside of every instrument too.
Double lock your doors and windows.
I have dogs in the house too.
If you're away, have a trusted friend check the place regularly (I actually do this for a friend too), keep the mail, grass, and snow under control.
Peace, Mooh.

Your are 100% correct. i have owned guitar for many many years and yesterday i took the time to record all the numbers and took come Pictures. I guess reading these posts woke me up.
I also bought a couple rare guitars and, they would be hard to replace.
I hope people can take the time to do this or have a family member do it.. it really doesn't take very long and it makes u feel a bit at ease..
Not everybody has a dog or alarms, and i believe if somebody wants your guitars or other, bad enough, they will find a way.
But these are good deterants, for the weaker dirtbags
Take care guys
