I just can't decide which one I want between the $89 Gibson Les Paul '59 Reissue or the $314 Gibson L5.
If I sold my Epiphone I could buy both.

I noticed the headstocks are conspicuously missing from the pictures...

Looks to me like the account has been hijacked. Someone should report this to Ebay.

Well they canceled most of them. Still am in the running for the Gold top

Sure doesn't look like London in the background
Never could figure out why they don't cancel all the bogus ads all at once.

If you can get them cheap, get them. I'm sure these will be worth something someday - an '07 counterfit might be the equivilent to the '70's lawsuit some day.
A $200 Gold Top replica that you can take out and play at your local pub gig - why not? Paying top dollar and not being told the difference is a bad thing, but if you like it and the price is right, why not? Most of us will never have the oportunity to own the real thing anyway.

How much would you pay for a 70's lawsuit?

Re: the goldtop...
The resistors look like super original, even the cracking paint behind the headstock... But the headstock itself (frontside) looks shifty to me... I am curious as to how you came to this conclusion?? Im not doubting your finding, but this is a damn good replica - scam or no scam

Probably is a real goldtop. Pictures of are easy to get. I used to be in with a bunch of Ebay scam fighters. We used to bid stuff up and report them. Ebay would cancel some but not all the listings. The ones that finish do get canceled but it can take a few days. Stephen Harper of 24 Sussex Dr in Ottawa has been on the hook for SEVERAL thousand dollars of completed auctions. We used to chase the email address in the Ebay ad too. We tried to get the delivery address and email address that they wanted the Western Union money transfer to. We sent that address to another guy that was supposed to forward to Interpol.
None of these guys clued into who Steven Harper is. Oh did you know that there is no postal code for that address. Steven tried to get a paypal account with it but it didn't exist.
When they post an email address ( especially when it's in html script) you know it's not real. I have seen hijackings where the picture is stolen from a current auction. Duh....

That would depend on what it was. If I was in the market for something I would expect to drop between $500 and $1000.00 - I've seen them being flogged for much more than that though.

I have a 70's Gession (http://www.guitarscanada.com/Board/showpost.php?p=40542&postcount=1) LP that I traded
a Fostex 4-track and a Boss drum machine for.
Current value? The former owner (good buddy
of mine. Collector too) tells me he knows some
collectors willing to shell out 2g's for this brand.
(yeah...in my dreams. But'cha never know).
From the info that I've gathered, it's a
Pre-Les Paul Reborn by Tokai.

I can't see paying that much for mine, but then it's not one of the main brands people associate with it--although it is a Matsumoku made brand.
At least it might be finally worth something...
