To become modified! Finally after talking about it I've sent the beast to FJA to have his Mod Plus.
What this mod is supposed to do is make the 5150 sound bigger, tighter low end and better low volume playing (Taken from the FJA website).
If all goes well I'd love to see what he can do to my Carvin Legacy.

Nope. I already have a new set of tubes here waiting for it's return. Also I don't dig the boosted sound on that amp.

You're having Britney Spears shipped?
PS. 5150, the Van Halen album, was named after a California criminal code that allows the law to hospitalize people who appear to be dangerous to themselves for 72 hours...Which is what kept her in the hospital over the weekend that has just ended. :smilie_flagge17:

I still have my doubts that she has mental problems. After all, nowadays, there is no such thing as bad publicity for some celebrities.

Agreed! I would totally have a mental break down if I knew that it would boost album sales or some other perk would come my way. Especially with playing metal/hard rock, it would just make you look more insane. Now who doesn't like an insane metal rocker??
JSX/6505

I'm sure you'll be happy with the mod. It sounds great by your description, and Jerry sures knows his 5150's.
I avoid boosting my amps gain with an overdrive. I used to with other amps that had less or undesirable gain voicings/levels. But with my JSX there is no need for a gain boost. (they actually thin out and weaken the JSX's tone)
My next purchase is going to be a 6505 which I will also refuse to boost with an overdrive pedal. It just doesn't need it.
