A buddy of mine has an old Black archtop, with F Holes, AND a small center hole, it's very attractive , and trimmed in white, with the Name RIO on the white headstock. he picked it up at a Pawnshop many years ago, and was told it was circa 1945-48 but no documentation. I've only ever seen one other, and that was in a Hal Ketchum video, and his had lightning bolt F holes.
I've been told that it was one of a number of inexpensive guitars made by National, for other stores/companies who put their names on them, But I am unaware if this is really so.
Any idea where we might look up some info?
